Spice Rubbed Cornish Hens

Cooking for the holidays can be a lot work, so it’s important to choose dishes that are both delicious and easy to prepare – especially during that laissez faire week between Christmas and New Year’s.

Cornish hens are a small flavourful poultry option that can be served as a main course or part of a larger holiday feast.

Here's a quick recipe for those times when you don't feel like cooking, when unexpected guests arrive, or when you're just by yourself.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cornish Hens

  • 2 tbsp D&D Garlic powder

  • 2 tbsp D&D Onion powder

  • 1 tbsp D&D Smoked Paprika

  • Salt

  • Pepper

Garnish

  • 1 Lemon

  • Handful of Parsley

Preperation

  • Mix all spices together in a bowl.

  • Drizzle oil all over the hens.

  • Using the spice mix and desired salt and pepper, season them inside and out.

  • Bake uncovered at 350°F for 75 - 85 minutes.

Plating Techniques

  • Serve with charred lemon.

  • Garnish with chopped parsely and salt and pepper as desired.
