Spice Rubbed Cornish Hens
Cooking for the holidays can be a lot work, so it’s important to choose dishes that are both delicious and easy to prepare – especially during that laissez faire week between Christmas and New Year’s.
Cornish hens are a small flavourful poultry option that can be served as a main course or part of a larger holiday feast.
Here's a quick recipe for those times when you don't feel like cooking, when unexpected guests arrive, or when you're just by yourself.
Ingredients
2 Cornish Hens
2 tbsp D&D Garlic powder
2 tbsp D&D Onion powder
1 tbsp D&D Smoked Paprika
Salt
Pepper
Garnish
1 Lemon
Handful of Parsley
Preperation
Mix all spices together in a bowl.
Drizzle oil all over the hens.
Using the spice mix and desired salt and pepper, season them inside and out.
Bake uncovered at 350°F for 75 - 85 minutes.
Plating Techniques
Serve with charred lemon.
Garnish with chopped parsely and salt and pepper as desired.
